As the holiday season is upon us, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a joyous and festive celebration. May this time of year bring you warmth, laughter, and the embrace of cherished traditions.

To add a delicious touch to your holiday gatherings, I’m excited to share two of my favorite holiday recipes—one perfect for Christmas and the other ideal for welcoming the New Year.

Creamed Corn for a Cozy Christmas

Ingredients:

  • 1lb frozen corn
  • 12oz heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 ½ tablespoon flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar

Directions:

1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux.

2. Gradually whisk in heavy whipping cream until smooth and thickened.

3. Add corn, sugar and salt. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Once the mixture is creamy and heated through, garnish with chopped parsley.

5. Serve this comforting creamed corn as a delightful side dish for your Christmas feast!

Champagne Punch to Ring in 2024

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle chilled champagne or sparkling wine
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup fresh berries
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Directions:

1. In a punch bowl, combine champagne, orange juice, brandy, and simple syrup.

2. Add fresh berries to the mix and stir gently.

3. Just before serving, add ice cubes to keep the punch chilled.

4. Garnish with mint leaves for a festive touch.

5. Toast to the New Year with this sparkling and fruity champagne punch!
